There are 2 types of nervous system in the body Sypathetic and Parasymapathetic. When a person starts to relax thats when the crying activity occurs. Physiologically, the Parasympathetic Nervous System is responsible for crying or shedding tears. So people who are stressed out do not cry. But they are not happy either. Same way by doing meditation you relax and Parasymapthaetic Nervous System starts working and for that reason sometimes you cry during meditation. Meaning thereby, if you cry during meditation it means that you are totally relaxed.
There are certain chemicals and hormones in our body which are released after crying and meditation. Endorphins are also one of the chemicals that are also released from our body, which in turn makes us feel happy. The hormone called andrenocorticotrophic hormone (ACTH) is also removed by relaxation and crying. So if we suppress tears or build up stress, this hormone level will go high in our body, thus aggravating stress-related diseases, such as high blood pressure, heart problems, and peptic ulcers.
So adding meditation to your day to day life not only relaxes you but also keep you away from the diseases.

This is indeed a very valuable insight into some of the very practical and scientifically demonstrable outcomes of meditation. During our seminars, we see a lot of the attendees cry or become emotional and after that emotion washes away, they feel light and unburdened from inside. We also observe that during the seminars people use the bathroom more often because again when you relax, and the Parasympathetic Nervous System kicks into action, it results in need to use the bathroom more often and thereby releases the person of toxins in the body.
So, Meditation is indeed the apple, that when eaten daily keeps the doctor away!
