This topic is where initiates can describe the experiences they have had after initiation and practicing the techniques.

Just a simple exercise of closing your eyes and following a meditation technique for few minutes can be so powerful. This exercise is generating calmness, lovingness, cheerfulness, activity, courage, intellegance, acceptance and tolerance in my nature. If I analyze this futher, due to above mentioned 8 items, I am able to create balance of health, wealth, wisdom, joy and happiness in my life. Now that is simply amazing!.. just a few minutes of meditation.....

You are right Rajat. Tiny drops make up the ocean. This drop of 8 qualities slowly but surely becomes the ocean of happiness!

Each time we meditate or practice spiritual techniques - a subtle decompression of our awareness happens. We become aware of yet another layer of ourselves.

This decompression sometimes causes us temporary uneasiness because beneath the status quo of our day to day consciousness lie buried years and years of accumulated Karmic impressions. Karmic impressions of experiences, feelings, habits, thinking patterns, love, joy, happiness and what not. Therefore, it is hard to predict what's going to happen in today's meditation. It is indeed an inward exploration, the effects of which are felt even after the meditation as an activity has ended.

Sometimes, one feels relaxed and assured and other times one might come out a little disturbed with the newfound impressions that have now surfaced due to this exploration.

Karmic impressions or "sanskars" both uplifting ("sattvic") and depressing ("tamasic") are buried within our awareness, and if no action is taken to release them they keep accumulating increasing our Karmic burden - the sole cause of unhappiness in our life. So they need to be discovered and, either dissolved by Reiki or released through Meditation.

The long term effect of meditation amongst other things is:

- increased depth of ones awareness from which one can draw power to propel ahead in life in all directions

- expansion of one's viewpoint so that one begins to see the "whys" and "hows" of one's life

- dawn of Divine Love in one's heart that makes all other feelings and questions unnecessary.

People around me often say that it’s hard for them to concentrate when they try to meditate as they are overshadowed with clouds of thoughts. They blame the thoughts and give it as a reason not to meditate. Our mind is like stack of wild horses which if not controlled starts running in every direction. It is not hard or impossible as we think to tame these wild horses. Using the techniques of baby steps, we can start with small sessions like sitting for a minimum of 3-5 minutes at a stretch. Even if you fail to avoid thoughts completely, be persistent in your sessions. This endurance would definitely bring results. Once done with these small sessions, one gradually has to increase the time limit slowly at ease within capacity and then unleashing it to indefinite boundaries. I would like to share my experience for the battle I had with my thoughts. Initially, when I started I use to lie down to do my mediations I was filled with thoughts. In spite without being afraid of them, I use to let them come and pass by. After few years I started falling asleep during my meditations, therefore I started to sit down and meditate. But this caused numbness in my legs. Shailesh suggested using a high chair or a pillow to allow blood circulation. It definitely helped me to sit longer for meditation. One more thing I discovered that I was completely rejuvenated and refreshed after meditations. I play cricket and get tired after a game. Earlier I used to take afternoon nap to get back energetic mode, but I would still feel tired throughout. Now-a-days, however tired I may be I sit in meditation and come out fresh, energetic, calm, happy, peaceful and have feeling of joy. Bottom line is meditation is a faster and more evolved technique to help us lead a healthier and energetic life, just by following simple practices daily.

A new experience:
Couple of days back, I had an interesting experience. It was one of the first experiences where I was fully aware of what was happening. It was like Windows Vista experience. I saw these different windows in 3 D scrolling horizontally in front of me. I heard some noises that were familiar and I saw some images/faces in these windows that did not look familiar, but I would rather not say what these faces looked like. Most important part of this experience was I was aware of my physical body also and this was not a dream like experience. Afterwards I felt fulfilled and joyful.

We are programmed to an extent that we think, if we sleep for more hours we would be more rested. Let take a look at some scenarios -

0. 0 hour Meditate + 8 hour sleep
1. 1 hour Meditate + 7 hour sleep
2. 2 Hour Meditate + 6 hour sleep
3. 3 Hour Meditate + 5 hour sleep
.
.
.
8. 8 hour Meditate + 0 hour sleep

From 1 - 8 , which scenario do you think will bring more rest, calm, peacefulness to your physical body & mental body. I would say lets try at least level 1, 2 or 3 and see it for ourselves.... you will be very surprised... Good Luck....

Feeling After Medidation:Like to know how/what people feel after meditation.I have had interesting experiences. Sometime I feel tierd right after meditation and want to go to bed and sleep and sometimes I am unable to sleep after meditation, I feel fresh and its middle of the night. Though in both cases I feel much calm, happy and relaxed the next day.I have noticed some times after meditation I would get only couple of hours of sleep, but when I get up, I feel very fresh and energetic while on a day if I miss meditation, even if I sleep for 6-8 hours, I do not feel same energy and freshness.
