Description

Come along with Spiritual Guru Shailesh on a sacred trip to the Chota Char Dham circuit. Chota means small or short in Hindi, Char means four and Dham means an abode. These four noble abodes are considered the seats of Divine presence and have been visited by saints, seers, yogis and pilgrims for thousands of years. Imagine the combined power of Divine presence and innumerable oblations from pilgrims over thousands of years. Such accumulation of energy energizes the water, the soil and the air of these noble abodes. It is to connect with this ancient, reverend and eternal Divine energy that we will travel to these destinations.

The appellation Char Dham refers to a much longer pilgrimage circuit that encompasses four important temples—Puri, Rameswaram, Dwarka, and Badrinath—located roughly at the four cardinal points of the Indian subcontinent. In the original Char Dham, three of the four sites are Vaishnava - the path that sees God in the form of Lord Vishnu. These sites are Puri, Dwarka and Badrinath. One is Shaiva - the path that sees God as Shiva. This site is Rameswaram. The Chota Char Dham includes representatives from all three major Hindu sectarian traditions, with two Shakti sites, Yamunotri and Gangotri,  representing the feminine energy of the Divine Mother,  one Shaiva site Kedarnath, and one Vaishnava site, Badrinath. The latter circuit is geographically located in the Indian Himalayan region and, therefore, can be completed in a shorter time frame.

Trip Dates : 17th October 2021 - 24th October 2021 (7 Nights and 8 Days)

Trip Cost : $4299 USD

Yamunotri is dedicated to the Goddess Yamuna and is the source of river Yamuna. A visit to this place purifies one’s soul and leads one to liberation from the cycle of rebirth on the planes of suffering.

Gangotri is dedicated to Goddess Ganga - an embodiment of the river Ganges. The Goddesses’s shrine overlooks the river Bhagirathi, another name of the river Ganges; the name having been derived from the myth of the ancient King Bhagirath’s penance that succeeded in bringing the river upon the earth from heaven. Gangotri is the source of river Ganga. A visit to this place also further purifies one’s soul.

Kedarnath is dedicated to Lord Shiva who is venerated as one of the twelve jyotirlingas, self-manifested symbols of light. Kedarnath is close to the source of the holy river Mandakini. A visit to Lord Kedarnath, blesses the seeker with health, longevity and spiritual strength.

Badrinath is dedicated to Lord Vishnu in his aspect of Badrinarayan. It is situated on the banks of the river Alaknanda. According to the legend, Lord Vishnu meditated here while his consort Lakshmi took the form of a Badri (berry) tree to offer him shade. Offering prayers at Badrinath is believed to both purify one’s soul and alleviate accumulated bad karma from previous births.

We will also be visiting Rishikesh and Rudraprayag.

This circuit of four holy abodes is important. The environment in these places has Divine vibrations and together they purify different aspects of the soul. A sense of completion is achieved after the four sites have been visited and one has either bathed in, or has been anointed by, the holy waters of the four rivers. Therefore, completing the circuit is considered meritorious in a yogi’s lifetime and puts their spiritual progress into hyper-speed.
