God is an option, not a restriction. There are myriad ways to know Him/Her/It - just choose one!
I see the many religions, paths, and methods as Divine's graceful way of keeping it interesting for us and giving us the options most suitable to our innate disposition -"lest one custom should corrupt the world". The only caveat is that when you choose a path follow it in its entirety. Don't mix and match too much for that will not get you anywhere except to intellectual mayhem.
