The full moon of the "poornima" indicates the role of a Guru. A Guru reflects the intense power of the Lord or "Ishwar" in such a way that the initiates can find the guiding light and soothing joy in the dark night of the cosmic delusion or the "Maya".
The initiates role is to absorb this light through the meditative practices taught by the Guru and, after fully absorbing this light, radiate it to others and benefit all beings.
